Twin Cities Tappers MTG House Rules

House Rule Repository for Niche Cases we tend to forget how to handle.

Commander Rotator Games House Rules

  • Initial Draw: 7

  • Team to Play First Does Draw a Card

  • Mulligan: 1 free mulligan, then Vancouver.

  • Player Death:

    • A player's permanents leave the game with him even if they are controlled by another player.

    • Reach does not change during a turn.  If a player's death changes reach, it does so during at the beginning of the next turn's untap step.

      • Example:  Ben sits between his opponents Andy and his teammate Chris.   Andy kills Ben during combat.  Now Andy is sitting next to his opponent Chris.  Andy casts a wrath on his post combat main phase.  That wrath does not impact Chris's board because Andy does not have reach to Chris until the beginning of the next untap step after Ben died.

  • Reach:

    • 5 or 6 Players Remaining:

      • A player has reach to their Player to their left or right.

      • A may only attack Opponents to their left or right.

    • 1-4 Players Remaining:

      • Standard Free for All Reach Rules.

  • Upon Reaching 4 Players:

    • The current turn is completed.

    • One active turn is removed.  The remaining active turn continues with the player from rotating player with the least life.  If only one player remains, the next turn continues with that player.
